The Colours of my Soul (African Wall Art)

Growing up in a post colonial Zimbabwe, Jedidah constantly heard the message that she would be more beautiful if only she was lighter skinned and with silkier longer hair.   Secretly Jedidah very much longed to have white hair and it was only when she was older that she learned that beauty comes in different forms.   And most importantly, true beauty comes from within.

Jedidah’s art draws inspiration from her childhood in Zimbabwe, a time when the beauty ideal did not embrace afro hair and dark skin.

Through her “Love My Fro” range, Jedidan beautifully portrays the uniqueness of afro hair, celebrating its beauty and diversity in her realistic yet abstract portraits.   Her work delves into the rich heritage, history and culture of the black community in a contemporary, decorative manner.

Jedidah embraces experimentation with textures, colors and styles, guided by an instinct to play and create.   Her vibrant artworks covey messages of beauty, peace and empowerment, reflecting the values close to her heart.
