Adorned in traditional regalia with intricate beadwork, she stands beside the lion—not as a symbol of battlefield prowess, but as the embodiment of her role as unifier and protector of a growing kingdom.

The lion beside her is depicted calm, formidable, and watchful, representing the unwavering strength from within that makes all outward strength possible. Like a lioness at the heart of her pride, Queen Lomvula was the constant, protective presence that allowed the kingdom to thrive, expand, and remain fearless. She was the She-Elephant—the power behind the throne, the stable foundation from which Eswatini could consolidate and grow during a critical period of expansion.

Created with richly layered abstract art acrylics and textured art techniques, this African artwork is finished with authentic African fabric borders that eliminate the need for framing. Warm earth tones of gold, amber, and deep browns flow across the canvas in expressive forms, echoing the colours of the African landscape and the strength of a woman who shaped a nation's destiny.

Collectors of African artworks, abstract art acrylics, and textured art will find in this ready-to-hang piece a meaningful connection to a remarkable woman whose strategic wisdom and unwavering presence ensured her kingdom remained united and resilient.

To see more of Jedidah's African queens, visit the Out of Africa collection.

Jedidah enjoys researching queens from African history to find stories that resonate.
