Hibiscus and bougainvillea also carry childhood memories for Jedidah. A huge bougainvillea bush grew outside her family home, and as a child she would play house, pretending the unopened hibiscus buds were little “sausages” to feed her dolls. Seeing these flowers again in warmer places brings back those memories, and they have naturally found their way into her artwork.
Inspired by the Wine, Water & Wakening collection, the cushion evokes an unhurried summer afternoon—wine poured, flowers gathered and a few precious minutes claimed in the sunshine.
